    I was definitely assuming this would be an opinion piece about young people saying “what do we think chat” and “victory royale” but, no, it’s actual research

    I was perfectly willing to believe a fraction of a percent of people could get their world properly mixed up, but once i got half way down and they were talking about memory and emotions in games like it was some mind blowing thing i stopped taking this seriously. I’m certain they’ve deliberately worded everything to be as spooky as possible to boomers.

    Sure, it’s not just people spending a bit too much time in addictive games. No, it’s a whole new phenomenon that requires research and possibly treatment! What a bunch of nonsense.

    How is this different from just… a habit? I know I’ve said “hey google, lights” to turn on the sun a couple times. It worked but it took like 10 hours darnit

    If you’ve ever played half life alyx, you might have found yourself trying to grab something with a hand gesture then finding it… does not fly towards you

    I thought we all agreed that real life is the game “outside” but the graphics are really good so it tricks most people
