It’s nothing dystopian like you think. Basically just a variation on camera sensors:

That seems pretty reasonable to me. Main account and two accounts to share. With just friends and family, I doubt most people will reach the 100 device limit.

I’d wager this wasn’t one of their first tests (and maybe not even a test at all). Looks to me like an advertisement/publicity stunt/demonstration.

I could be easily wrong since I haven’t researched this exact event, but I think it’s safe to assume it’s more than just a test since they have cameras out.

I mean, what better way to sell a new and untrusted device than to put your own trust (and life) in the product.

Would you sell a bullet proof vest if you didn’t feel safe wearing it?

Would you buy a bullet proof vest if its own inventor didn’t feel safe wearing it?

Basically, the big circle is what you think of them, and the small circle is what you believe they think of you.

I would say to go find some people. Go find a local gaming store, and look for something like a DnD or tournament group to join. Maybe look for some other sort of group: camping, biking, robotics, whatever.

Get to know some people, make some friends. Once you get to know people and get close to them, then you can open up about your struggles. Good friends will want to support you and help you out.

Find some people and then you won’t have to struggle alone. Plus, all the fun things you can do with them will be a good distraction from your addictions, and maybe, over time, your addictions will lessen.
