A contrarian isn’t one who always objects - that’s a confirmist of a different sort. A contrarian reasons independently, from the ground up, and resists pressure to conform.
There’s a big difference between committing a crime and reporting someone for a crime they’ve already committed. To me, it’s pretty clear why murder is wrong - but the virtue of reporting a loved one for murder isn’t nearly as obvious.
Honestly, if it’s truly a “loved one” I probably wouldn’t even report them for murder. Why? I think that when someone is close enough to you we simply apply different standards to them. Kind of like rescuing your own child from a burning building rather that rescuing two strangers.
I don’t feel like I need one. If it’s badly made I can usually tell with a high confidence that it’s AI and if it’s made so well that I can’t tell I generally don’t care either.
No false negatives yet, though.

People used to talk about slaves in exactly the same way.
Our AI assistants might not be conscious yet, but there’s a good chance they will be someday. Treating them with basic decency from the start just seems like the right thing to do. The way I talk to ChatGPT isn’t all that different from how I talk to people - and I don’t feel the need to switch modes just because I’ve rationalized that something isn’t deserving of respect.
I had mandatory Swedish at school for over 6 years and I can’t even count to ten in that language. Time well spent.
I can strongly relate with this though I must add that there’s no way of knowing what the alternative would’ve been. Whose to say my interests wouldn’t have naturally evolved over time on their own without any major outside influence. It just would be quite surprising if excessive porn use since early age wouldn’t play a factor in why my sexuality is so twisted nowdays in more ways than one.
Interesting how what’s clearly a joke sets off your sexism alarm, but the blatant sexism in the original post doesn’t.

If it’s notifications you’re after you can try saying positive things about capitalism or Elon Musk for example or simply go into a thread where everyone is outraged about anything and try making some sense in there.
The use of it in the US was banned only last year and I’m not aware of there having been such movement.
The use of asbestos in the US was only banned in 2024.
I’ve always considered Amazon a store that mostly Americans use. Personally I’ve always just used eBay and Aliexpress myself.

It’s not much different wether one has investments or not. For most people their investment horizon is decades in the future. Market crash shouldn’t affect them in any way. You just hold and keep buying more like you have done up to this point.
I’ve been saying this for a long time. If a robot / AI can do your job just as well as you can if not even better then it probably should. For example, I don’t think we should get rid of combine harvesters simply because scything employs more people.
I don’t see how even the way Twitter does it is any worse than not having such system at all.
