The whole “ITS A LIVE SERVICE IT CANT JUST BECOME SINGLE PLAYER” argument fundamentally misses every single easy point about community hosted servers.

It’s the most prevalent, and also most stupid argument I keep seeing pop up.

It’s crazy how they act like no one else could run a server for a live service game.

We used to fucking buy and rent servers to game on our own private servers.

Its wild how this disappeared and all server structure just got consolidated into shit like AWS and Azure.

I mean having devs turn over the games to players after they cease development is not crazy at all.

Live service games can still absolutely be playable once development has ceased.

Anyone can run a server.

Stop killing games is a no brainer initiative

The point is that people RARELY take the advice of others.

Therapists try to get out to realize what you should do by and also try to get you to think that it was your idea.

Why? What about their strategy right now it because of the way things are changing?

None of it is. It is because of mismanagement that happened with Don Matrick and the OG Xbox one focusing on fucking cable hookups and banning their users from borrowing physical games.

That corporate garbage in Xbox NEVER fully disappeared and now they’re reaping what they sowed.

Also not releasing an exclusive game worth buying since before 2014 is a wild strategy.

Those jobs in and of themselves are fine. We are all capable of nuance. I don’t hate gardeners or grocery store workers, they’re all generally great.

Listing previous work is pretty standard when getting a job, also shows his prior qualifications which I think we’re entitled to know.

GoG is dope for giving install files and being DRM free.

But acting like steam isn’t legitimately the best platform by a country mile is crazy.

Many of steams users engage at least a little with a lot of what steam offers.

Hell steam has integrated VR support, steam link for remote play, and fantastic 2FA account protection.

Steam has so many more features than any other platform.

First to market or not, that’s why steam is number one.

None of its competitors offer the community, market, discussion boards, rating system, friend system functionality and overall reliability that steam does.

It has competition, just not on PC.

Epic is atrociously bad. From hampering system performance to a total lack of any of the above features, using epic sucks.

The Xbox app is somehow seemongly always broken despite literally being developed by the platform holders and with a shit load of cash behind it.

I don’t love the idea of a steam monopoly but you gotta also give them their flowers, it’s a fantastic storefront, arguably the best when considering all gaming platforms that exist even outside of PC.

The wolfire games lawsuit is so damn cringe.

No company is your friend, but there’s a reason Steam is number 1. The reinvestment in the platform and breadth of features steam has is unrivaled.

Epic has been trying for nearly a decade now and their store doesn’t even have 1/4 the features of steam.

I love GoG though. For me they offer something steam can’t, installers for my games.
