If someone would accuse me, as a german, of stareing, I’d be baffled, because for us it is normal not to look away after a split second. We also like to say things directly and don’t like waste time with small talk and chit chat in some situations. Many think this makes us cold.
And… you obviously know about the darkest parts of german history. I was born 24 years after the third Reich was defeated and 80 years later this time still haunts this country. So, my personal tip. Just say you want to leave the US because that country is heading for a fall. I can speak a bit german because my great grandma was from [insert city/village/state here]. I hope this will help me learn to speak fluently fast.

Here in Germany the farthest left party is BSW and those are those that would crawl up Tsar Putin’s ass in an instant, that basically think you should talk to the bully and he’ll come to its senses and stops bullying others. First thing that should be done… slap a “replacing a worker with a machine” tax, before we even think about having autonomous cars as cabs.
First, there is this pony express solution called the electoral college. Second, a prove of US citizenship should be all you need to vote. No registering, no voter lists… Going to the nearest ballot with your ID should suffice. Third. Of course you also should have a law that demands people register as a habitant of a village, city, township so they are in the respective “voters”-register. Forth. Make Gerrymandering impossible.
Seriously, there are so many countries that have a working system. Take a peek and ise what’s working for others. Don’t be like Germany, where working solutions are getting dismissed in favor of half baked shit some incompetent party friends suggest and that in the end take 5 times more time to work and cost 4 times more (a.k.a. filling those party friends coffers)
