Do you know how many users on tech support calls thought the tech was talking about their own computer instead of the user’s? Or would just brainbreak into repeatedly yelling “it’s not my computer it’s my job’s/child’s/dog’s computer”?

Nah you’re right. KoA was exactly that. More recently we have Wayfinder having a similar story.

MMOs have a lot of game design quirks and gameplay loops that either don’t exist in singleplayer RPGs or exist in a different way that doesn’t scratch the same itch. But some of us hate the constant money begging MMOs do or the toxic playerbases and would like to avoid that. Or we just don’t have the time to sink into a real MMO.

Windows: Has a complex and graceful shutdown process to make sure programs never close if there’s a problem with them and your computer just stalls on shutdown until you hold down the power button and completely void out the purpose of the graceful shutdown.
