But I don’t think lemmy fixes that since it has the same mod/channel structure. The nice thing is that advertisers and nefarious actors haven’t started posting as “fellow kids” yet, like they have on Reddit for many years.

Reddit has been shit for like 5+ years at that larger levels, but some small niche hobby and similar subs are still decent.

I was banned for posting facts in conservative subreddits with 2 accounts, and somehow that’s ban-worthy. I swear conservatives (fascists) are the biggest snowflakes of all.

But now I can’t post in all the cool little niche subs like weeviltime, hobbies, solarpunk, etc.

I don’t think this is even the big effect we’ll be seeing from AI. think that’ll occur over the next 12-24 months, as LLM operationalization occurs and matures the implementations.

The rise of fascism in the mid-1920s to late 1930s was a direct response by the ruling capitalists to the ascent of real, populist/socialist/communist changes that actually threatened their power and wealth for the first time in history.
